So What Does a Michigan Medical Marijuana Caregiver Need to Know About Patients

Where can we even begin as this is a very important question when so many are basically medical marijuana virgins so to speak.  For every patient I have met,  that knows a little about medical cannabis, I meet at the least 10 MMMP that have rarely ever used cannabis more than hitting a joint that was passed at a party or knowing what it smells like but that is it. They do not understand strains, they do not know how it will effect them, they know very little about the laws other than they had to get a card to use it, they do not understand dosing .... Etc etc etc ....

But as a caregiver what should you know about your patient? Well first off you should know about there illness and the basic good effects of cannabis and how that it is used for in there illness or disease and the best way for them to use it in treating said issue effectively.   You should know the strains most used in treating the illness and have ability to get them for the patients with  no ifs, ands or buts. If you do not have something that is very close to the strain needed that is at the very least comparable meaning if they have a need for cbd, and cbg cannabinoids your strain runs high in these cannabinoids just not THC ... than you should never claim you can or you have a strain you do not as you have someones life in your hands. Any caregiver doing this should be put on a black list, we have heard many horror stories and it happens often even in so called cbd oil products carried online and in shops.

As well you should know if your making edibles if any food items are not suitable for the patient you are working with. If a patient has nut allergies or is allergic or sensitive to coconut oil, fruits, dairy etc.  As a caregiver you are looking over the patient and these are things you must know.  When making edibles cancer patients or as well diabetics they  should not have a lot of sugars or in the later case any, when treating a Crohn's patients they should stay away from many foods that can cause a flair up.  There are just many things a caregiver needs to know and if they do not they should study up on there patients.

Yet this comes with a price and in the end if a caregiver is doing all this you should pay for your portion of the plants that are grown for you.  Meaning that you cover the costs and cannot expect extras until you do so. A caregiver cannot legally sell off extras yet patients I see go to dispensaries and leave caregivers short on what they put up for the patient and are stuck holding the bill. Sure caregivers have done so as well but as a patient you have a alternative to this a caregiver that is honest and follows the laws is stuck in a bad spot on the other hand. Most caregivers make very little from donations and so they actually depend on patients to live up to there end of the bargain. Meaning if you take on a caregiver and you do not  live up to the amount of meds you need your hurting someone else as well. Seeing a caregiver will either have to sign on another patient of destroy the medicine if they cannot find another in time.    That means all the money spent on growing for that patient is lost ..

So that is a small update on Medical marijuana caregivers and I need to stress one last thing. No one is entitled to a free ounce from a caregiver, you as a patient are required to reimburse your caregiver for all meds that you ask them to grow, and nothing more.  You would get extra in almost every case with all the people I know the majority of patients that I know that live up to there end of the bargain the caregiver show there appreciation.
